I lined up with Brad Leach for the 4/5's race at Bike Lexington. A great day for racing in downtown Lexington and really hot on the course.

I decided on a change of tactics for this race, electing to ride at or near the front for the whole race. I was able to follow Brad's wheel for the earlier part of the race. He flatted part way though and I lost track of him. Lewis, from McDonalds, launched one of his standard breakaway attempts. I worked with  two other guys to bring him back. We were slowly bringing him back and then suddenly he was right there...turns out he had a spill. In any case, we were all back together. The group pretty much stayed together, as the three of us traded pulls up front, keeping the pace fairly high. No one else was willing to do any work at all.

We carried on this way until the last few laps, where I deliberately limited my pulls. I was in fourth wheel on the last lap, perfectly positioned behind Lewis, just waiting for him to jump. Unfortunately, on the final corner, the guy in second clipped his pedal and Lewis and I had to scatter to avoid him. Ended up on my own with a longer sprint then expected. I managed to hold my position, crossing the line in third.
